Had one hell of a psych session… big emotions. Good session but the kind that you need to sit down and process for 30 minutes afterwards. I had thought I might pack my shoes and some other stuff tonight but it isn’t happening. It’s been a big week and more to come with the real move coming up.

I am not being lazy or weak, I am pacing myself 👍

I was just thinking to myself today that no one starts or does everything at the same time. And starts are the hardest as learning curves are real and take a lot of work. Life naturally just spaces itself out with different demands happening at different times. Systems are set up at different times, skills learnt at different times.

Life is naturally paced. That’s how people can do so much .

It’s how I did it as a teen even. Got some education. Got a job. Moved out. Did more education. One big start at a time.

Friend I met up with today said she doesn’t drive because her ex crashed into a tree after she broke up with him and thought it was her fault. But she has spoken to me about driving on the ring road with her dad and driving to her sport practice. It’s just that she needs a ride whenever I go out with her. Another friend wants me to pick up her too good to go box which is a 10 minute drive away. I feel iffy about saying yes because she constantly asks me to check if things are in stock for her at my work and asked me to help jump-start her car because she had no one else. I don’t mind doing a nice thing for a friend, but I just feel like these people are using me.

hmmm, that all sounds a bit like emotionally manipulative bullshit on their part.

Politely decline and see what happens.

Good for you! I’ve let people use me in the past and it wasted a lot of my time and energy for nothing.

Less than nothing actually. Because they actively made my life worse.

I must be getting old but I just can’t stand that bs anymore.

And you aren’t even giving genuinely needed help, you’re a convenience and that’s different.

They can walk or get a bus or get uber. Asking for a lift , I can’t even imagine it. Unless it’s hospital and even then I would expect them to make an effort.

Exactly, I never ask anyone for a lift because I always feel so bad. But these people have absolutely no problem doing so. As a child, my mum was very paranoid about safety and was a SAHM so I had the privilege of being driven around, and expected that I was meant to do the same thing for others.

I know people aren’t raised the same way, and not everyone has the same level of agreeableness. It still just baffles me.

After many phone calls tonight I can now finally have dinner.

Watching some shows then I’ll hit the sack.

    Made a thread for tomorrow.

The friend who I’m picking up the food for is going to give me some food and I might ask her about GitHub to attempt to make a bot.

I’ve been looking into an RSS bot for here and it seems doable. There are options for creating posts, pinning them, and unpinning posts.

Went to pick up some extra food for a few days and came across some bargains

3kg bag of oranges for 5 dollars and a bag with 4 bunches of chinese broccoli or something for 2 bucks.

Felt like I made off like a bandit and has left me fairly happy with myself.

Also this afternoon was way smoother with almost no hassles compared to yesterday’s drama.

Edit: I also grabbed some red wine and pink moscato.

I’ll probably just end up eating them.

They’re fairly big oranges and I lack a juicer too.

Chop them in half across the equator, let the cut surfaces dry a bit then sprinkle with sugar and put under the grill until the sugar melts and goes a bit brown. Eat with a spoon. It’s the perfect antidote to a rich heavy meal. Thank me later.

Went shopping with friend who wants to rebuild my wardrobe. Bought nothing but she bought some cheap earrings, only to leave the bag of them on the bus. I followed the bus in the car and she ran to get her earrings.

Shopping is exhausting. Very lucky to have such a first world problem. But I hate shopping centres and browsing.

Wait until you have to buy bras for other people. This is a whole new dimension of not fun. Did that while my late bloke was working in Timor Leste for the army as a contractor just after the fighting stopped. The army women found that they couldn’t buy bras locally due to size and durability issues - like, a bra would last for a month or two at most and were usually far too small. And the uniform issue ones were truly horrible to wear if you were a generous size and even those were in short supply. So my bloke asked me to buy up bras at Vic market and send them up to Timor Leste. I’d get a list of sizes and had to find as many as possible to those specs. Then the fun times of arranging postage …

It sounds fun, but my wife has never taken me along.
        Yes, she hates bra shopping.
