minus-squareDuenan@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up10·edit-21 day agoWent to pick up some extra food for a few days and came across some bargains 3kg bag of oranges for 5 dollars and a bag with 4 bunches of chinese broccoli or something for 2 bucks. Felt like I made off like a bandit and has left me fairly happy with myself. Also this afternoon was way smoother with almost no hassles compared to yesterday’s drama. Edit: I also grabbed some red wine and pink moscato.
minus-squareTaleya@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·1 day agoOrange juice freezes spectacularly jsyk. I like to make ice cubes
minus-squareDuenan@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up5·1 day agoI’ll probably just end up eating them. They’re fairly big oranges and I lack a juicer too.
minus-squareTaleya@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·1 day agoAlways worth having a little jug juicer for citrus, but delicious oranges are delicious
minus-squareTheWitchofThornbury@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up5·1 day agoChop them in half across the equator, let the cut surfaces dry a bit then sprinkle with sugar and put under the grill until the sugar melts and goes a bit brown. Eat with a spoon. It’s the perfect antidote to a rich heavy meal. Thank me later.
minus-squareDuenan@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 day agoI’ll bookmark this for later. I hadn’t considered that option before and am a little curious about it now.
minus-squareCatfish@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 day agoCutting them in half and whacking with a mallet is good enough for brewing juice…,
minus-squareCatfish@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 day agoWell yes, but if you do it in minimal attire in a bathtub you might get secondary income as well as home brew
minus-squareDuenan@aussie.zonelinkfedilinkarrow-up3·1 day agoI’m not sure I’ll recoup the cost of a mallet from that alone. Might be a bust.

Sounds messy.
