It doesn’t mean they believe life can’t have any meaning. They can still believe other things can give life meaning or that they can create their own meaning for life.
Nihilists don’t believe nothing about anything matters. It doesn’t mean they believe their suffering or the suffering of others doesn’t matter.
Nihilsm is philosophy, whether someone derives meaning from it is unrelated to politics.
