    At least he surrendered. So long as he’s smart enough to not return to ru until after the war is over he has his whole life ahead of him.

          My understanding is they get the choice if they call the surrender line or otherwise seek surrender. If they’re captured they don’t get a choice.

            I would assume they can offer not to exchange you, in return for e.g. making a statement like this. Kid would be tortured and killed back in Russia after this video

              I wonder, in a cold world, if Ukraine would care about that, if a Ukrainian could be saved.

              I would hope yes, they would care
