Netflix’s ‘Twilight of the Gods,’ co-created by Zack Snyder, is an animated retelling of Norse mythology about the lead-up to Ragnarok.

“Visually rich but emotionally hollow” just about sums up the Snyder ouvre. I do like some of his movies, but when adapting a work he often either misses the point or ignores it entirely (though the paratext suggests the former haha).

Many thanks to James Woodall for teaching me the term “paratext”. ✌🏻

Edit: Fixed some things. I should never comment before coffee. ☕

Thank you Zack Snyder for 300 and Watchmen, two series that have now gained serious pop culture relevance outside of comic books.

I appreciate you Zack Snyder for your interesting interpretation of Superman.

Zack, you failed to understand Justice League. Every time I see Avengers merch, I fantasize a world where Justice League had the same relevance.

You had my interest until Zack Snyder.

      Same.

I felt like I gave Zack Snyder a lot of extra tries to impress me, because he gets projects that nerds will literally throw bags of money at.

I quite liked Zack Snyder’s works regardless of what people would say, even thought Army of the Dead was average but watchable. After watching the first Rebel Moon I realised the works are all style but barely any substance and I just can’t see myself getting invested in anything released under his name in the future.

I feel like if he was paired up with a great writer and someone who could reign in his use of slow-mo we could be on to a winner
