What it says in the title.

Illinois

With few exceptions, Chicago and it’s county, (Cook) and the surrounding (collar) counties are Illinois, as far as most of us are concerned (especially including good food, presidential elections and tax income).

We’re objectively better than NY.

Chicago holds the importance, due to being the main freight hub in the country, that once upon a time belonged to New Orleans. However the advent of railroad stripped that title away from New Orleans, relegating it and thus Louisiana to shadows of their former selves.

Ohio here. Beer sales in store stop at 1am, but you can buy to go beers at bars till 2:30. Liquor store closes at 11pm and there’s no to go liquor at bars. Sales start at 5:30am every day.

Where do you have a liquor store open until 11? Most close at 9, and I’ve only ever seen a couple open until 10.

That we are the meth capital of the US. Hell Newsweek and Time did a piece on us. But we are shutting down rehab facilities left and right. Now guess which state I live in?

Off the top of my head…

The state is cut into two distinct separate areas, as far as everyone is concerned there is an east and west side, we have a mutual understanding that each dislikes the other.

The weather here is much nicer than everyone assumes, but we let everyone think that it’s horrible.

Tech drives the economy and brings people here, but it’s the least interesting part of the state.

We are much more diverse than the media portrays us, no matter which axis you spin us on.

We have the oldest city in the US.

Yes, there are alligators here, all over the place.
