It is! Whipped it up for the Political Memes community… and then got banned from Political Memes for ‘advocating violence’. Um… whoops.

        Maybe it’s temporary? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Charity… my choice would be any of those most at risk by a turn in the political environment. Planned Parenthood, any LGBTQ+ resource… if you get a kick out of that meme enough to merit a $20 donation, I have a sneaking suspicion that the venn diagram of your values and mine is pretty close to a clean circle, so if there’s something specific you had in mind, you definitely don’t need my permission (not that you ever needed my permission on how to spend your own money, but you get the gist!).

Edit - To be clear, posting that image in this thread is the 2nd time I posted it. The first posting was in Political Memes here. I realized in hindsight that that might make the post in this thread -not- OC. I created the image, but the one here isn’t THE original.

I don’t think the meme itself was the issue, but the discussion therein. Speculating on the motive, I mentioned the oath military and feds are required to take, and that it advocates violence… I probably shouldn’t elaborate or I’ll risk a ban here too…

Yeah, the oath calls to defend the Constitution from all enemies foreign and domestic. Not really your fault if someone claims that advocates for violence because it’s not you issuing a specific and legal order. Doesn’t say anything about protecting the government I suppose.

It’s weird that those were the posts they took issue with. I’ve been pretty vocal about not giving a damn about Nazi lives, former president Agent Orange included… but discussing federal oaths and their implications is what crossed the line?

I can understand the admins being on high alert after an assassination attempt on a presidential candidate though, so… whatever, I’ll just eat the ban and shitpost in other communities instead.

Repeating his contention that Mrs. Clinton wanted to abolish the right to bear arms, Mr. Trump warned at a rally here that it would be “a horrible day” if Mrs. Clinton were elected and got to appoint a tiebreaking Supreme Court justice.

If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks,” Mr. Trump said, as the crowd began to boo. He quickly added: “Although the Second Amendment people — maybe there is, I don’t know.

I’m in a gun club and the WhatsApp chat had, surprise surprise, a rich, fashy vet immediately saying that the attempt meant that all supporters of the Democrats were now “enemy combatants” and should be treated like enemy combatants were back when “they” were deployed. Fucking psychotic, brownshirt ass. I know this makes me sound like him, but people like him have one solution and it’s measured in six foot increments of rope.

No need. There are perfectly fine criminal laws in place. If only they were executed equally, this problem would be a lot smaller in scope.

It’s only free speech when we speak. When someone says something I don’t like, that’s not free speech.

It’s only ok to incite violence when we do it.

This hypocrisy isn’t a good look. Lemmy loves to point at Trump’s hypocrisy (see OP) but are blind to their own. It makes your position appear weaker because you don’t actually stand for anything (e.g. free speech as it exists in the US).

I’ve said it before but many here are more like conservatives than they realize. They also don’t really stand for anything. For example, they pretend to love small government and then bend right over with pre-lubed assholes when DeSantis legislates lab meat out of existence in their state instead of letting tHe FRee MArKeT decide.

This thread really shows the biggest crime Trump has committed so far: dividing the country.

For all the rethoric in this (and thousands of other threads) were people from both sides say the other side should die, everyone seems to forget that they’re talking about their families, their friends, their neighbours. Anyone in doubt about how a civil war actually looks like should maybe ask Yugoslavia how well that worked out for them. Yeah i know, it no longer exists.

How many innocent civilians were murdered?

One should also think about what will happen to the US when other countries (hello China, hello Russia) will take advantage of the US being in a civil war. Land grabbing, US land grabbing and hell, WWIII aren’t off the table.

To be clear, I’m veryuch against Trump, against the religious extremists and their takeover of the US government, but people on both sides need to calm down and look at their leaders. Right wing leadership is fucking evil and as far as I am concerned can all burn in a fire, but were talking about a fairly small group that pushes all this.

Stop fantasizing about murdering everyone following right wing media, most of them have been brainwashed, are dumb, or just plain angry and once all this is over, they’ll still be your family, they’ll still be your neighbor, they’ll still be your friends, they’ll still be there, and you can’t murder them all, that is not how anything works.

Start working on bridging the gap, start working today on reaching out and pulling those angry fixkers back into the fold. Show them we’re not the enemy.

Their leadership, again, is a different story.
