Sorry for sounding dumb but does 93mln mean 9 air-defense missiles or 90? Or is it spent entirely different?

I’m not sure how it will be spent, but it theoretically could pay for about 72 AIM-120 AMRAAM for the NASAMS air defense system.

It’s being chipped into the German initiative of buying patriot systems (surface to air missile system). Several countries are chipping in.

It’s expensive as fuck. $93 million would only be enough for one third of one patriot system, or 20 missiles, but the money can probably also be used for training or staffing.

As stated in the article, Norway already pledged to give 4 times that. The news is that they’re adding more. They’ll also send fighter jets.

It has been estimated that Ukraine needs 7 of these systems to cover the borders and 1000 missiles.

My point was rather how crazy expensive these things are, not to diminish the importance of donations from Norway
