My old person trait is that I think ‘ghosting’ is completely unacceptable and you owe the other person a face-to-face conversation.

My old person trait is that I don’t trust paying with your phone. My whole family does it and it has never gone wrong, but I feel uneasy

I will always be horrified when your local mom n pop shop expects you to say your credit card and security pins out over the phone.

These days larger companies have terminals that accepts keyboard input, still not ideal but much better than saying it out.

This is one reason why I’d rather get delivery from DD/GH/UE instead of calling for delivery (if it’s even offered)…I don’t want to give my credit card over the phone.

I’d much rather do it through an established app/storefront (I.e. Square or Toast).

That, and anxiety. I really don’t want to talk about my pizza. Much rather press a button.

Sadly the only way to contactlessly pay with your phone is Google Pay, Apple Pay or maybe Samsung pay at least where I love. And I don’t trust any of those companies. There is no other open source standard implementation and you can’t even just use your bank’s app.

I don’t trust tap to pay with my card, but that’s because it’s not a rotating key. Frankly I wish they would let me request a physical card without tap to pay. The chip worked…
