Not exactly on topic, because I only jealously have looked at the Amiga of my older cousin and my first own computer was a x86 (133MHz Pentium - was a fucking monster with a Voodoo 2 graphics accelerator)

But I’m seeing more and more news about Amiga in the last years.
Am I just in a news bubble or is there really some kind of a comeback - more than just as a nostalgic hobbyist project?

      Mostly a nostalgic hobbyist thing.

But there are modern Amiga options, like MorphOS, Amiga OS 4 and AROS. Can always look those up and see what works for you.

No worries. There’s also things like PiStorm, Amiga OS 3.2 and other options, depending what kind of route you want to go down.

My first computer was i386, I didn’t like it so I changed it to A1200 and boy was it fun. It was a love at first sight.

That sounds fun, I’m kinda jealous :-)

Anyway, I’ve loved my first computer and I think, it wouldn’t have mattered much, what it was
It was my computer and I could do everything with it, my mind was able to produce - and fit the hardware

That’s what I felt at that time at least

Yes, there’s nothing which makes me feel so excited about computers nowadays. Maybe I’m just too old.

            Yeah, I’m with you

Experiencing even the internet in its early years was like discovering a new world, that was the wild west

            It was just glamorous…

            I really miss it.

And now politicians without having any clue cut it down.
I just don’t want to stand by and watch - but I also don’t know what to do …

It was just like that. I think there’s nothing we can do about it, those days are gone forever and we must get used to it.
