I’m exaggerating a lot here lol

There is a lot of really bad political takes on Lemmy. But I’m unsure if it has anything to do with Lemmy and that it’s just the effect of having people argue on the internet.

The most extreme and loud voices will always dominate on the internet it seems. And most normal people will have more important stuff to do than argue with people on the internet.

It doesn’t help with some of the developers of Lemmy also are pushing pretty extraordinary stuff.

But I’ve never really used Reddit or anything similar so I just have to acclimate. Although I’m curious if I’m in the minority of feeling this when following political stuff on Lemmy.

I will admit I’ve felt the same way about some corners of the Mastodon/Pleroma side of Fediverse. What makes me uneasy is the way in which people push for ideas and values that I also believe in. It wasn’t like this 10 years ago.
