A tweet from Robert Irwin features two side-by-side photos taken 15 years apart at the same location with the same crocodile named Murray.

  • The top photo shows Steve Irwin (Robert’s father) wearing his signature khaki outfit, holding food in the air as Murray, a large crocodile, rises up on his hind legs toward it. A crowd of spectators watches in the background.
  • The bottom photo shows Robert Irwin, also dressed in khaki, recreating the same moment with Murray in the same spot. Robert mirrors his father’s pose, with Murray again rising toward the food. The crowd in the background is watching intently.

The caption reads: “Dad and me feeding Murray… same place, same croc – two photos 15 years apart ❤️🐊”

He was a big deal before he died though, wasn’t he? I’m a norwegian, and I used to watch a ton of croc files when I was a kid.

      Not in Australia.

First I heard of him was South Park where he was a dickhead who provoked animals, next I heard of him he was dead for provoking animals.

People be downvoting you, but, as an Australian, I kind of agree with the sentiment

The number 1 golden rule in Australia is “don’t fuck with the wildlife”. He broke this rule. Constantly

So when people talk about his death like a tragedy, I can’t help but think of it as an inevitability

Do I think he did a lot of good? Yes

Do I think the above post was a PR move? Also yes

People are usually more than just all good or bad
