Yes? If you were added to a sketchy government surveillance list would you then decide you wanted Donald Trump to be president?

I think I might do anything that might prevent that from happening to me again.

All your ideals, your whole political identity, just out the window because you personally were put on a surveillance list? Doesn’t sound like you really believe in anything all that much then…

I believe in not being surveilled by my government. That is a core belief. So you could say that yes I do believe in some things very deeply.

Ok, you believe in one thing very much and have no meaningful beliefs about anything to do with anyone other than yourself. Yeah, then it does make sense for you to base your entire political life around a single personal affront.

They’re also ignoring that project 2025 involves putting tens of thousands on a government hit list.

Yes I complete my census survey that seems like a valid function of government.

I do not register for a political party as I believe voting is an immoral act. I have no right to tell anyone how to live there life. If I were to vote for a candidate I would be indirectly telling others how they should live. If I were to vote for a ballot measure I would be directly telling others how they should live.

Someone recently challenged me on that stance and I’m revaluating it slightly. They asked if I would vote to restore a freedom that had been taken away. I haven’t fully wrestled with that yet, but I’m starting to think that I might should the situation occur.

Trump is the person in this election who is most likely to keep creepy watchlists. In fact, I would be shocked if he doesn’t have them already.

He has people who curate his enemies list, and he will get them once he is elected… or at least that is what he told everyone during his rallies.
