In most cases with web services like this, “delete” doesn’t even mean “delete”, the files remain on the backup servers for some time.

Technology@lemmy.today•Google now lets you have full conversations with Gemini for Home
11·2 months agoThat’s not the most accurate way to put it. They’ve been slow-rolling the implementation of Gemini features in the versions of Gemini they have in their Home/Nest and Android Auto versions of Gemini for quite some time now, until recently they’ve just been Google Assistant under a different name. Only recently (like, a few days ago), did Gemini start working in my Android Auto device. They announced that implementation like a week or two ago.

1·2 months agoIt’s a little annoying.
I think these types of events have to happen naturally. “Dunesday” seems not only natural, but unwanted from the corporate side, as I’m hearing that Warner Bros. locked down access to the IMAX theaters for Dune Part Three, so Disney might push up the release date for Avengers: Doomsday so that they can get some IMAX showings.
Hot take, but I think Dunesday will actually be bigger than Barbenheimer, at least when it comes to box office results. However, I think it will be a very, very long time until we get another theatrical event like that again.

2·2 months agoI grew up drinking water, because my parents were broke and my mom is a bit of a conspiracy theorist when it comes to science and stuff, especially artificial foods.
Nowadays I’ve stuck with water, in part because I’m broke too, but also because I notice that when I’m truly thirsty, which happens when I am playing sports, water actually tastes the best. Give me a Coke when I’m hooping and I will probably ask you for water lol
But I honestly do believe that Gatorade helps with dehydration if you’re truly dehydrated. Pedialyte would probably be a healthier alternative if you need to hydrate quickly.

1·2 months agoIsn’t it juice, not soda?
Anyways, it sounds like they’re not changing the drink, just the marketing.
Gatorade actually does have electrolytes that helps one rehydrate, but that’s pretty much where the health benefits end. Last I heard, it’s pretty sugary. You can probably get electrolyte water if that’s what one is after as an athlete.

The bubble will pop at some point, but I don’t think much will happen until housing is massively disrupted, like there are mass foreclosures, evictions, or failures of the companies giving out housing loans.
We could have received a necessary correction if we didn’t give out stimulus checks during COVID-19, but that would have hurt politicians’ popularity, and probably wouldn’t have many them many corporate friends either.
