  • Well, that’s a fucked up comparison.

People that do nothing are very probably unmotivated, depressed or simply not good at that particular skill.

Given the opportunity, the vast majority of human beings don’t want to sit around doing nothing.

The capitalist world we live forces people to do jobs they don’t like to pay for things they don’t need.

With our level of technology we should all be living in a post scarcity society, doing fulfilling things that we like.

The only beneficiaries of this system are the deranged money and power hoarders that suck the life of everyone else.

They created this narrative that people are lazy and sadly it has been very effective.

  • I 100% agree with everything you said.

The sad reality is that is extremely difficult, and in most cases imposible to restrict kids phone and social media usage.

Is the equivalent of not having the X cool toy, clothing or shoes of the moment but exponentially critical for not being a pariah.

The only way to revert this situation would be a majority or parents agreeing to restrict their kids at the same time.

This doesn’t happen because parents are distracted and consumed by, you guessed it, phones and social media.

Its like the serpent that eats its tail, a self fulfilling never ending enshitification of the human condition.

  • So you can only talk about what you experienced, noted.

You have no empathy nor capacity of abstraction.

No wonder why you are incapable to put yourself in other people’s shoes.

Even in this conversation you have to run away from anything that jeopardises your comfortable way of thinking.

Good for you, but then again Fuck you.

  • I can draw that conclusion simply by looking around me seeing how better off are home owners financially.

Where I live, paying a mortgage is 30% cheaper than paying rent.

Also paying a mortgage is like putting money inside your bank account while having somewhere to live, whereas by paying rent you simply put money in your landlord’s pockets further enriching them or allowing then to not work.

Additionaly there are guardrails for when you can’t pay your mortgage while in most countries there are none for not paying your rent.

Edit: I guess the people you mention are so well off that they don’t experience any financial insecurity, have passive income unrelated to actual work and thus can threat home ownership as a services. Aren’t they?

See you are purposely ignoring the various entry barriers to property ownership.

    • Not living paycheck to paycheck
    • Having the down payment (or parents that can help you with that)
    • Having the right credit score
    • etc…

Instead you think people don’t own property cause they spend their money wrong, for example in prostitutes?

Get out of you echo chamber, I get is cosy and safe there but come on…
