Bob Dylan if he was a vegan bisexual woman and was a prisoner at Biscuit Maximum Security Institution

Looks amazing! I’ll be honest I haven’t heard of this before but it looks good and I am going to look into making a plant based version of it myself. Thanks for sharing!
Whoa, this looks incredible!! It’s been far too long since I had chickpeas
None. I’m pretty lax about blocking people and haven’t yet encountered anyone worth blocking.
I haven’t blocked any communities or instances since the instance I created my account on has defederated from lemmy.world and .ca. I’ve considered blocking sh.itjust.works but I’ve successfully avoided them so far.
It’s pretty cliche but I got the bus home and on the way we passed an animal farm. There were chickens in the outdoor pen and it just clicked in my mind that what I was eating were living creatures that could feel pain and emotions. Instead of going straight home I jumped off at the closest store and began to look into buying plant based meat alternatives. I finished my shop, went home, and immediately threw out all the meat products I still had. I was only vegetarian for about 6 months but then I went vegan and never looked back.
Nowadays I am WFPB and doing a lot better.

Fuck Israel and America
Sorry, just seen that hamid already answered lol
Mushrooms iirc are basically the “fruit” part of mycelium, eating a mushroom is about the equivalent of eating an apple
Assuming this is serious (I’m terrible at detecting sarcasm) then no. Mushrooms don’t have a brain or anything that would allow them to experience sentience.
Beans and lentils. Could eat them for every meal 24/7/365
Dem mental gymnastics are going into overdrive rn
First of all, thanks for the kind words about my post
I agree that the news stuff felt a bit spammy at times, I wasn’t really interested in that stuff and yet it took up a good amount of my feed (although it seems like the person who primarily was doing it has been banned for unrelated reasons now.) I’ve always kinda wished this instance had a more “general” community like the weekly megathreads and if other people feel that way then I’m all for it.
Considering I no longer get out of breath when I walk, deal with indigestion, or have rough skin I’d say life has improved significantly since I went vegan.
Though, as I’ve mentioned previously, I sometimes feel a lot more lonely and isolated from the rest of the world. I live in a pretty big and diverse city so it’s genuinely nonsensical to me how few vegans I’ve actually come across in real life (I’ve met, like, four other vegans, one of whom “isn’t vegan” anymore.)
As for what I’m up to, I’m moving to a different house so I can finally start my garden up again. It’s been way too long lol.
I agree with you. Most of the “meat alternatives” taste like shit and I’m tired of pretending like they don’t. One of the main factors in me eventually going WFPB is that I don’t like plant-based versions of non-vegan stuff and would rather make my own food from scratch.
Van Gogh is another of my favourites. I remember seeing a Doctor Who clip a while ago where they bring him to the future to show him how successful he becomes posthumously. I’ve never seen Doctor Who before but that clip really moved me.
Yeah, I feel the same way. My favourite period of art is Surrealism (with Goya generally considered to be either the first surrealist painter or the last traditional one, included him anyway tho). We studied his work during my first year of Art History including how the sort of “hierarchy” surrounding curated art has evolved over the centuries.
I mentioned this a while ago, but my favourite artists are Frida Kahlo and Francisco de Goya.
I’ll be honest, I sometimes get pretty lonely irl being pretty much the only vegan in my life. I tried to organise a vegan group in my city last year and basically everyone who expressed interest was either vegetarian or “flexitarian”/“99% vegan”/“whatever”.
Hate to feel like I’m spoiling the mood of the place but feel like you all would understand better than anyone I know in real life.
My favourite bean is pinto. Also like black beans, cannellini, kidney, and string beans if you wanna count them lol
Looks amazing! I love making stuff like this after a long day, really simple yet tastes great.
