It’s not like reddit is any better about fracturing. There’s two different San Diego subreddits because the mods hate each other. There are plenty of other examples but they are rarely talked about.

I’m so sorry, I figured it out. In profile settings, I had enabled language english. This caused well over half the timeline, and all posts and comments in this community to vanish, including my own. After deleting those settings, the problem is fixed.

I just tried force closing it on airplane mode and it showed the same info after the close.
I’m almoat certain it’s a bug. I hate it, though. I’ve been only using Jerboa instead.
