It actually harms Google a little in regards to trademark if it becomes a common verb.
Same thing nearly happened to Xerox, people used Xerox to mean “make a copy” so much they nearly lost the trademark to it
least pirate it.
Don’t gotta tell me twice lmao
It’s a shame really, Sony is one of the last of the prolific single player AAA producers, everyone else seems intent on shoveling multi-player crap out and maybe doing SP as an after thought:(
Frfr, I was worried there for a sec lol
Yea, I was told that in 196, I remade it and reposted it in the better format, the other in 196 was removed, but since this one has some good comments under it I’d prefer to leave it
The load balancing bit was mostly a joke, Im not calling for Lemmy posters to have a CCNA LMAO, but it doesn’t hurt to spare an extra second or 2 when you’re in the community search drop down on the posting screen
This is for when there are multiple comms across instances, for example there’s !science@mander.xyz and !science@lemmy.world and a .ml version
Same with !memes@sopuli.xyz !memes@lemmy.world and the .ml version
If your interest is in science, it costs you nothing to post to mander.xyz’s version and is a cheap contribution to the overall health of the Fediverse
If the only version of a comm is on .world, that’s fine, that’s not what the meme is about (though if it’s on the Tankie Triad, I’d encourage you to create your own community on your home instance, which also contributes to your home instances growth)
Perhaps you’re right, I thought about it and remade it into a different format and reposted it
While that’s admirable, you gotta tailor your “calls to action"s (ig is what they’re called”) to where you’re at.
Here on Lemmy the biggest issues are the tankies, posting about people not buying from Amazon or posting on FB on Lemmy isn’t really effective because most of the people here already likely do that. Those kinda posts would be more effective in someplace like Reddit where that’s far more common and Tankies are far less common
Wish you the best @preston@possumpat.io I just started posting to the !startrek@possumpat.io here so I hope this is just a small blip and you’ll be back online soon!
While scrolling to find my posts on lemmy.film to crosspost elsewhere I checked in on some posts on !startrek@possumpat.io and apparently possumpat.io is shutting down soon to :(
Ignore the tankies, mock the fascists.
Part of that is not contributing to the growth of their spaces and/or calling for the Fediverse at large to defed from them
I’ve found it to be ineffective, sure some do “see the light”, but is it worth it?
Time and time again I see others lay out (not just here but on Reddit, TT, Xitter, Nextdoor and everywhere else) for conservatives evidence, graphs, good sources, scientific studies, hard numbers, video and photos, well structured arguments that are short, medium and long on length and much much more.
And what are they nearly always met with? That’s just fake news, lies by the deep State, “AI”, biased news!, Lefty propaganda, demoncrat LIEESSS, LIBTURDS etc.
Oh got dammit! Are there any other instances you know of that’s down for the count?
Also, fucking fuck GoDaddy, almost 5 grand now‽ Effectively ensures no one else can start an instance at that domain either >:(
It’s the little sacrifices that make a good parent great lol
Even though it is the smallest of the distilled models that model still outperforms GPT 4o and Claude Sonnet 3.5.
The 7B parameter models crush the older models on performance benchmarks. The 14 billion parameter model is very competitive with OpenAI o1 mini in many metrics.
Yea sounds like it’s their smallest model
lemmy.world is the largest Lemmy instance by far and is causing growing concern that it’s causing the Lemmy-verse to become too centralized and strangling out smaller instances either intentionally (if .world defed’s from your instance you immediately start losing out on a ton of content/traffic) or unintentionally (people just post there by default leaving little content for other instances)
So now there’s ongoing efforts to try to balance things out a bit
Yea, but there’s always an article about how AI Z is actually inaccurate or inefficient in X for Y reasons
I think some articles focusing on the human cost (mental health in this case) is good too
I’ve been posting quite a bit to !science@mander.xyz instead of !science@lemmy.world as well
Edit:
Oh and sometimes I post to !moviesandtv@lemmy.film because I like the domain for that instance LMAO
I get jealous every time I hear about this lmao
+1 VLC will dutifully try to play even corrupted to hell files that any other media player would just fail with some form of “can’t play, file is corrupt”
