  • This is unrelated but all the Saudi business recently has kind of given me a new perspective on owners like Daniel Levy. I really do think despite his horrible sporting decisions there is a degree to which Spurs fans should be grateful to have him and ENIC running their club. It allows them to still love the club unashamedly. More and more it seems foreign owners are able to completely alienate the relationship between a club and a supporter. It’s bizarre for example that when you’re a Newcastle or City fan today you have to have some inner dialogue with yourself about human rights abuse and where you stand with the owners in terms of ethics and morality.

    I’m not a fan of an EPL team myself, but if I were I think it would be a happier experience being a Tottenham fan than a Newcastle or City one.
