This is an interesting little rebuild, hope it works out. Both Messi and Busquets are absolutely still elite and could imo play in Europe if they wanted to, but they are also specifically lacking a bit in physicality, and I always hear how physical the MLS is.
This is unrelated but all the Saudi business recently has kind of given me a new perspective on owners like Daniel Levy. I really do think despite his horrible sporting decisions there is a degree to which Spurs fans should be grateful to have him and ENIC running their club. It allows them to still love the club unashamedly. More and more it seems foreign owners are able to completely alienate the relationship between a club and a supporter. It’s bizarre for example that when you’re a Newcastle or City fan today you have to have some inner dialogue with yourself about human rights abuse and where you stand with the owners in terms of ethics and morality.
I’m not a fan of an EPL team myself, but if I were I think it would be a happier experience being a Tottenham fan than a Newcastle or City one.
Seems quite turbulent in Amsterdam
I’m a Barcelona fan so it brings me no pleasure to say this, but Madrid really seem to be transitioning their midfield well, if they actually trust Tchouameni again and move Camavinga back where he belongs. Having the options of Cama, Tchou, Bellingham and Valverde to start and Modric and Kroos as bench players would be insane if managed right. I think he will be an important part of their new chapter.
As a salty Barca fan, I will mention Real Madrid have the second highest wage bill in Europe… Unfortunately, we have the third
Chelsea are in this funny position where they have to sell players but they’re frustrated teams are trying to buy the only good ones
The final act of Disco Elysium fucked me up for a while
Clowns fr every fucking time
Alba is still pretty good. Not good enough to start for Barcelona but I think he can still be valuable to a mid table or maybe even UCL spot team. Sad to me that he’s picking between Miami and Saudi
Or rather, if Liverpool’s offer was a perfect match for Dortmund
Ah that makes sense but it’s very stubborn. Mbappe doesn’t seem to want that
I find it nearly impossible to care about the Nations League tbh
Why exactly are clubs so reluctant to let players leave on a free when they’ve been at the club this long? Surely a player like Mbappe has sort of “paid back” his transfer fee after all the time he’s spent there?
Says it’s being done in commercial court. Feel like they owe him money lmao
I think Reddit will have a somewhat significant loss in users but it’ll endure, at least for the time being. Social media sites die slower now. But I’m happy I found alternatives because I just can’t see myself using their official app
Bro it’s like he WANTS us to only see t shirt ads
Yeah this is the big thing for me with this transfer. Madrid want a CF, not a forward coming in from the left.
He deserves getting another season but there’s no getting around that they massively underperformed domestically. If there isn’t improvement they need to make the switch somewhat early like Aston Villa did
I’m not actually a United fan so I don’t know what Sabitzer’s loan situation is. But I do watch a lot of them and Eriksen is definitely on his last legs. I think he becomes a bench player next season.
My take on their center midfield targets is that Mount is a good player and would be good for them but he still doesn’t solve their problem of progressive carries and tight possession. They need a De Jong type player and Mount definitely isn’t that. But the midfield is very weak so he’s an upgrade on what they have at least
Chelsea are playing a dangerous game if they’re actually trying to move him on. 70mil for Mount with 1 year left is absurd, nobody is paying that. And I don’t see any benefit in him leaving on a free next year, it’s not like Kane with Spurs where he’s guaranteed to drag them up the table if he stays another year.
