I’m not particularly concerned with how “the kbin user base” looks or any silly tribalism like that tbh. I’m just wondering if/why the issue might be happening. If the string doesn’t appear in the git repo, that’s a useful data point for sure. But plenty of people are confirming that something is going on, so the questions as to 1) what is causing it and 2) why are still out there.
Lee’s is basically the sweet spot of flavour vs affordability for me. I can’t speak to Cartem’s, I don’t have the money to justify the cost.
Right on, all of that makes sense. The issue with #2 is that when I went to Kbin mags via Lemmy, the upper-right menu continued to give a “Subscribe” option (instead of “Unsubscribe” for my subbed Lemmy communities). But I think that might have happened when I’d visit some Lemmy subs as well. Either way, it’s early days, and this is a great new Fediverse app that I plan to use a ton. Thanks again!
Solid start! Questions re subscribed communities:
Either way, this strikes me as an improvement over Jerboa, so I will be using it. Thanks for your hard work on this!
Nope, I can’t risk not being fully aware of my surroundings.
I don’t know. There seems to be some openness on Mastodon to bots that are properly labelled as such, in my experience. I’d say open a bot account here and use it to give the crossposting a shot. Anyone who doesn’t like it can easily block the bot account and move on with their day.
Don’t forget to hit the CTRL button when clicking on any external links so they open in a new tab. Basically pretend it’s 2012 again.
Gorsuch is a mixed bag at best on a lot of issues, but he has been as good as anyone could expect on Indigenous issues. Check out his concurrence in this case (starting on PDF page 43), which straightforwardly grapples with the history of forced family separations and residential schools.
For sit-down or coffee, generally 20%, as I’ve done for years. Not going to go up to 25%, and it’ll take bad service for me to dip below 18%.
Slightly different for delivery - I’ll usually do a flat $5 if they’re nearby and I’m just ordering a meal for me and my partner. If we’re getting a lot of food, I’ll add to that.
If I order takeout food (not coffee), I don’t tip at all.
There’s a pretty good YouTube video from this guy out of Toronto (I think) who talked about these a week or so ago.
Ah, I see. I mean, I don’t know that you really need to create it on this instance. Though I get why this would be a natural home for it!
Be the change you want to see in the world.
(I’m partly kidding – there are a ton of communities I’d like to see carry over from Reddit to here, but I don’t bother because I don’t have bandwidth to be a mod. So I get it. But if you have time, feel free to make the communities yourself!)
A good reminder not to let one’s intrusive thoughts win
I’m actually surprised this made it to third reading already! If you look at the city’s most recent list of major development projects, there are more than a few projects that have been languishing for years since their second reading. That’s actually why I posted this – I fully expected third reading for this project to take much longer than one year.
They aren’t “second-guessing the engineer.” Again, no parking analysis has been completed. They’re asking questions that are appropriate to ask.
Any idea what’s happening?
Most ebikes have decently water-resistant controller housings. I’d avoid a serious downpour if possible, but it probably wouldn’t be the end of the world if you get caught in one, and light rain is no problem at all.
If Reddit were to back down from their API gamesmanship, I’d probably stick with Infinity, as it’s a great app and easily my favorite 3P Reddit app.
I don’t expect Reddit will back down, so in all likelihood I will miss both this service and this app. Damn shame.
I had the same experience with OSM maps years ago, but you’ve convinced me to give it another chance. I’m looking forward to seeing if it handles public transport in Vancouver as well as Google Maps does.
