  • I’m currently listening to Livesuit by James SA Corey. It’s part of their new series that released this year called The Captives War. It’s a Novella/Interquel pretty typical of their release style.

It takes place in an incredibly unknowably distant future for humanity. We follow a squad of Livesuit infantry who have fused their bodies with technology to fight an unfathomable legion of alien conquerors. An enemy that has never lost a war then uses the best traits of conquered races to continue their war.

Why it’s so good is because the author(s) have an incredible way of describing people and the world they interact with. Images are vivd and believable. While being so alien, and futuristic Corey manages to write a world you can imagine yourself in.

Additionally, their novellas always take place in the same world, but are completely stand alone stories from the main series so the depth of world building is just… chef’s kiss

Both writers were originally working on writing RPGs and TTRPGs so their style just brings me back to sitting at a table with friends, some drinks and a Character Sheet for a hopeful lvl 3 wizard.

  • In my experience that’s exactly it. They’re the same kinds of people who also say “You know, if I was an attractive young girl I would love to make money staying home and showing my tits on the internet for money.” But when confronted with the reality of it all they would rather demean people who actually do that and make more money than them.

The fact is a lot of them are threatened by women who make more money than them while also feeling like those women owe them something for being attractive. Like I said, these people do “shake their tits for the rich.” In one way or the other. It’s only that the people who are actually shaking their tits are the honest ones while the bootlickers cry for the boot to stomp down harder.

  • I’m pretty sure votes like this require a certain percentage of the population to vote anyway. Like… the vote wouldn’t count if there was only 15% voter turnout.

ultimately, a majority of the country had a chance to vote and a majority decided (by a slim margin) that they wanted in.

The other issue as you stated was authenticity. Of course you’ll have natural dissenters. But a lot of evidence does indeed point to interference. Like people asking the poll watchers where to collect their money and becoming upset they won’t get payed for voting no.

  • The problem with your version of history is that there is nothing for me to refute because it’s factually incongruous with the actual events that took place.

This is why nobody wants to try to converse with russian state shills. You have a completely wrong version of events and won’t back down from it.

The government installed prior to 2014 was an illegal government puppet for the Russians. All evidence points to that being the truth. Even allies of Russia called that election a brazen theft of the democratic system in Ukraine.

Have you taken a moment to think that by 2014, 23 years following independence from the Soviet union, that Ukrainians were sick and tired of being under the thumb of imperialist soviet doctrine alive and well in Russia?

What about the countless treaties and agreements that Russia would leave Ukraine alone and uphold international borders?

Does it not make sense to defend yourself? Especially when these forces you claim were wrongfully murdered for demanding liberty were… Russian soldiers and russian people’s forcefully displaced by… Russia.

  • Certainly! A lot of this is old knowledge that’s been rattling around in my head from old books and lessons I’ve taken.

To start here’s a wiki link to summarize the Crucified Soldier.

Here’s a link to an article by The National discussinf Canadian and German relations leading to Canadian brutality.

As well a short wiki article talking about trench raiding, namely referencing a book about Canadians in the bibliography section.

Alrernatively, here’s a link from the Canadian Legion talking about Canada developing night raiding as a tactic on the modern battlefield.

I could probably dredge up some other information if you’d like but I think these are a nice starting point. From there it should be easy to make your own searches or narrow down your interests. I hope this helps.

  • Canadians had a vendetta against the germans and refused to even acknowledge their humanity on a whole.

Canadians were the recipients of some of the most brutal german assaults, gas attacks and night raids. As well there was a rumour early in the war that the germans crucified a Canadian in no mans land. Since then all bets were off.

Canadian soldiers used to throw tins of food into German trenches during quiet periods then when the calls came for more they would throw grenades instead. Ensuring they killed as many Germans as possible.

Canadians also perfected night stealth raids where they would sneak into German lines and cut the throats of every other man. Leaving the Germans to wake up to their numbers decimated without a sign of the enemy.

At one conference at the Hague the Germans promised to stop using gas weapons if the Canadians agreed to stop using birdshot in their shotguns and the Canadians said no.

Canadians really don’t do war kindly.
