    Probably for the same reason living entities feel pain. Primary to motivate self care but also to relate and feel empathy for others.

    But i do agree this could absolutely turn on us. Is there really no other way?

      What if they can make machines feel pain i’ll bet there are other ways to make machines detect damage .
