Sorry - I’m a nube and not that far into the game, but a couple of times I’ve come across objects that look a bit like small icicles - but that seem like they are steaming. I found a couple in a block of ice I melted.
Any clues as to what they are or their utility?
When ice blocks melt, I’ve seen them break down into small icicles that you can fuse to a weapon to get an elemental weapon. They steam because they’re still melting, I think.
I think you can fuse them to a weapon. To make like an ice axe.
You can fuse them to your weapons or shields.

The steam from the icicles and ice block are them melting. You might have fused it to a weapon/shield in a cold area and then equipped the item in a warm area.
If you are in a cold area and you are seeing steam off ice then you have a elemental weapon equipped or fire shield or something.
