ive no idea about Ukraine’s electrinic industry. Are they able to create everything apart from semiconductors or is it just assembly?
That looks like just the assembly and bake part. Really you’re looking at fairly general electronics on a board like that (capacitors, resistors, outputs (USB) etc.) with the exception of 1 or 2 specific chips.

On that board in the pic above:
- left large rectangle is a radio / WiFi module.
- Above it and to the right is what I’d assume is the video chip or CPU/GPU in one.
- RAM or Storage to the left of that
- Right side for USB.
- Reset button or power toggle above that.
- Top and bottom rows are for connecting external stuff (cameras etc.)
The circuit board might be made in country but again it’s easy enough to have made elsewhere and ship there once the design is complete and tested.
It’s a tidy little design.
i figured it was all pick n place (i used to work as an EE designing pcbs and was J-STD-001 certified as the stuff was prototype avionics id sometimes have to hand-solder the boards or inspect them) but i was more interested in Ukraines manufacturing capabilities.
Although its easier, now, to get stuff made elsewhere and assembled in Ukraine, it seems like they may want to get more self sufficient. Russia clearly has access to the same stuff Ukraine wants (from China). Perhaps assembling in-house is the start.

I was amazed when I visited a plywood factory and they made straight cut at an angle so they dont have to stop the wood from moving through the line.
I’ve been lucky enough to see some in large electronics factories in China. The speed they move at is honestly mind bending.
Same and also stateside at my local pcba supplier. Crazy fast.
