Premieres April 2024. Manga synopsis from AniList:

The story of the Sasakura Ryu and Eden Hall, a small cocktail bar in the Chiba area of Tokyo, where troubled customers come for the “glass of the gods,” which with Ryu’s assistance helps them to resolve their often highly emotional problems.

If you have trouble reading the super tiny text on the poster, I have transcribed it below (it was really hard to read, just like every other time). An Old Fashioned isn’t really my thing, but I know a couple people that absolutely love them.

Old Fashioned

  • Bourbon - 45 mL
  • Aromatic Bitters - 2 dashes
  • 1 sugar cube
  1. Place a sugar cube in a rocks glass and sprinkle with aromatic bitters to soak.
  2. Fill with ice, pour bourbon, garnish with sliced orange, sliced lemon, and maraschino cherry, and serve with muddler.

Previous visuals/drink recipes they released:

Oh! I loved reading the original manga for this. I didn’t follow either of the sequels, but it was a nice way to learn (even if slightly flawed) about various cocktails as a young adult. Just a cozy series where sometimes problems can be solved by the right drink and the right words, and sometimes they can’t be solved but it’s easier with the right support.

Don’t know if I’ll watch the series, but this might spur me into reading those sequels!

Enjoy! I have heard good things about the manga, but haven’t read it myself. If you do, feel free to let us know over in !manga@ani.social what you think!

This is a mid century old fashioned, ie just about the worst you can get.

    A good old fashioned is:

    • 1 part (oz typically) whiskey (of choice)

    • 1 part syrup (1 to 2 simple or demerara)

    • 2 jigs Aromatic Bitters

    • 1 orange rind strip (not wedge)

Stir whiskey, bitters, and syrup over ice until diluted to preference and pour over serving cube. Twist orange strip over glass and serve.

Or - hear me out here -

    • 60ml makers mark
    • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
    • ~8ml 2:1 sugar syrup
    • and if you can get it, ~8ml of maraschino liquor

Stir over ice, strain into a rocks glass with a fresh ice chunk. If you’re feeling fancy, rinse the glass with a splash of absinth beforehand. Garnish with an orange twist, a cherry, or hey why not: both.

Using sugar syrup means the sweetness is mixed into the drink… And you aren’t chewing on bits of sugar when you finish. The larger pour of bourbon gives you a longer drink and the fancy pants additions really do add something special to it, but are totally optional. Sub makers for whatever you like… It’s my favourite bourbon to mix for this one.

Yes I just shared a variation old fashioned recipe. Yes, I know in some circles this constitutes a declaration of war.

Better than what OP recommended. A midcentury old fashioned is a waste of any alcohol put into it.

In my defense, I have just transcribed what was on the poster. Some of the past posters they have released for this series have had unconventional recipes as well. I remember a discussion in the comments about the Gin Fizz recipe as well.

This character looks like what a professional Yahtzee player would look like if playing Yahtzee was a professional sport with official tournaments.
