english journalists trying to make an article that doesn’t revolve around the us challenge (impossible)

    nice article otherwise though :)

telegram is indeed a peculiarity in the modern technological scene, as the article puts it, at first i was a little disappointed that telegram doesn’t follow the traditional oss path, with all the related challenges and benefits, but over time, i thought, telegram probably has a cocnrete plan, and it’s successful obviously

maybe telegram deliberately chose this on-the-edge position (not fully open source, but not completely proprietary; not fully transparent, but also clearly provides some insight; not completely ad-free, but also not excessively commercialized), and it’s a part of what makes it so successful: combining the best parts of both “sides”, so to speak idk 🤷‍♀️

Please do not post links to sites that do not give full article without at least giving an alternative link in the comment with a FULL ARTICLE.

Uhm, I’ve been able to access the full article no problem when it was published. I guess they paywalled it later. I will add the archived article link

I dislike that they ask for my phone number. i realize bots spamming on social media is part of the reasonf, but I still feel it is invasive.
