I decided to check out this series and so far, it hasn’t really captured me (unlike how Kyouka captured Yuuki). The worldbuilding seems interesting if not really that original with these otherworld incursions into our world and enabling powers to awaken in some humans (only girls in this show’s case). The most original bit of the whole show so far is Kyouka herself. Her character design is great and the power that she has is custom designed for the ecchi shonen that the tags promised.

The way this show is set up, Yuuki becoming the caretaker of the dorm full of girls, is a throwback to so many old harem shows in anime’s past. I know the source readers were really excited about this one, so I am hopeful that there is more to this series than we have seen so far. If it is solely relying on ecchi to carry a subpar story, it isn’t going to live up to the hype.
