Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!

Anyone can make the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!

Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.

So, how’s it going?

Sorry lemmy.world people, there seems to have been an issue on the lemmy.world end that meant posts and comments from lemmy.nz users or from any users posting to lemmy.nz communities didn’t federate. I talked with their tech lead and it seems to be sorted now, including federation of the missing posts and comments from the last couple of days.

Otherwise not a lot to report on for today. Playing with the lego with the kids, housework. I’m on leave for Christmas for another week, and having family come to visit next week when hopefully we will go and see some dinosaurs at Te Papa.

Anyone got New Years Eve plans? My plans include going to sleep early but I hear sometimes people do exciting things.

My family member is back from hospital! It’s a bit scary because theoretically the hospital would discharge them into residential care to recover for a bit before coming home, but at this time of the year beds are too scarce. Anyway so far so good.

As well as pohutukawas, the rata and kanuka are flowering at the moment. I love seeing hundreds of white petals falling through the air like snow.

Really enjoying the free to air cricket. Feels like the old days with the folks where it was constantly on in the background. Well before it gets locked down again…

Are there NZ games happening? I’m not much of a cricket fan but would have expected my wife to have it on if something was happening!

Ah now you mention it, I do remember it being mentioned. Just loosely following I think, rather than watching.
