I’m glad I’m not the only one it seems a little disappointed in this costume design. I mean there are plenty of female characters in media who have costumes like this- Samus is explicitly not one.

If the only fanart that is allowed to exist is that which strictly adheres to the principles of the original… Then we wouldn’t have fanart.

And while it’s nice that you had your subjective opinion validated by others… was it really necessary to pile on even more “I don’t like it” by joining in?

I’m sorry to yuck your yum. Reading back my comment its harsher in hindsight then I would have liked.

Growing up Samus was one of the female characters I could most relate to because she didn’t have to have her body on display. Not that it’s wrong to show skin, it just wasn’t my preference and it seemed that it was so rare that female characters were allowed to exist without being sexualized. It’s not bad art, just (to me) it doesn’t seem like Samus because it’s removing one of her standout characteristics.

I am perfectly aware that not all things appeal to all people, but this comment section turned into r/badwomensanatomy, and not the considerate and constructive end of it. This isn’t what the moe communities are for.

I am viscerally disgusted that the only ban-worthy comment in its vitriol, was at the top of this comment section. I don’t know how much more self-hatred it’d be provoking if I had actually drawn this.

I cheer every time a female character wears actual armor. In a metroid narrative context I would never get behind this design.

But this is fanart, Samus could be wearing nothing at all, and the art still wouldn’t deserve what this comment section is giving it.

Ok, yes, this does have some wacky proportions and doesn’t make a lot of sense… however, I kinda like how the visor has a nose piece that kinda looks like a beak, as a nod to the chozo

What sort of device is needed to get her breasts inside of that armor. Are they just vacuumed in making the donning process easy? Or does she manually have to shove/squish those badabadonkers in there over the course of like 5-10 minutes? Either way that looks extremely uncomfortable…

Not only tits, look at her butt and thigh, the leg piece is obviously way undersized.

And the hair, it must be a pain in the ass to pull all of it out from the helmet just so Ridley can use that to fling her around like a ragdoll.

The advanced high tech space armor also have less protection than a medieval full plate armor from 13 century, her waist, side of her chest, butt, part of her upper arm, and palm, all exposed with only zero suit, while her inner elbow is protected with some sort of armor.

This whole piece is a failure to understand human anatomy, armor, and Samus Aran.

If exaggerating the human anatomy is “against the rules”, boy do I have news for you…

Nothing about this piece, or this absolute disgrace of a comment section, suggests it is a failiure in any other way aside from failing to please people it was never intended to please.

Uhh no i didn’t say anything about it breaking rule. It’s a terrible understanding of everything and that’s my criticism of it, just because you liked and it’s targeted toward perv, doesn’t make it a good one. And i didn’t stop you from liking it.

Hence why it was in quotes. I wasn’t “actually” saying it’s a rule, yet you felt strongly enough to act as if it is.

An artist’s deliberate disregard for what you consider sensible, is not indicative of a lack of anything. Your criticism explains why you do not approve, nothing more. There isn’t a single word in there with constructive value.

This is c/cybermoe, it is a place for appreciating art, including the kind that turns people on as long as it isn’t actual porn.

While you haven’t violated any rules, I’ll be clear, this type of subjective drivel is unwelcome.
