Grindavik has been evacuated for a month due to possibility of eruption and it has finally happened.
Shawn Willsey, geology professor from Idaho is doing a play by play live stream explaining everything.
Here’s a picture I took from Perlan Reykjavík a few minutes ago.
Dang that’s fire.
I’ve only ever seen a volcano once from far away, thankfully while it wasn’t killing people. It blows my mind I can watch one on the other side of the world with only a few seconds delay… I hope everything remains low level and doesn’t cause too much misery for those nearby.
