Yep. Even a planned economy, while filled with inefficiencies, would not have been nearly so terrible had the structures that controlled it been completely immune to anything except internal politicking by the elite.
Instead we have a situation where they managed to make capitalism look good (Jesus fucking Christ) for several generations of the population which lived through the Soviet-supported ‘alternative’.
And then when the USSR ended they convinced all the proles to sell their company shares. It’s been class war since the black plague and we are still fighting it, god damn.

Ignoring elections, banning opposition parties and turning the guns on striking workers all happened under Lenin. Stalin was worse but Lenin doesn’t get off the hook by a long shot.
And all of that ignores the mass executions directed by Lenin during the Red Terror.
