It’s problematic. Plenty of instances host illegal content, and you don’t want that liability as an instance admin. Other instances do things that abuse the network, like post unmitigated spam.
Is there no instance out there that has full freedom so I can put whatever I want in my feed?
As you already were told, there has to be, but they will likely be (or are already) blocked by other instances due to not being moderated.
