Translation:

10 years ago, in the darkest hours of the night, the Yanukovych regime began to forcibly disperse students on the Maidan.

A very small number of young boys and girls, idealist students, who sang songs and warmed themselves by the fire, protesting against the curtailment of Ukraine’s European path, were surrounded and brutally “cleansed” by armed units of the Golden Eagle.

Tear gas and rubber batons were used. Cattle in uniform beat everyone indiscriminately, boys and girls. They were beaten, beaten with sticks, thrown to the ground. Children were knocked off their feet right under the Independence Monument. Even after they threw everyone out of the Maidan, they did not stop, they drove to Khreshchatyk. Those who managed to hide in the entrances were searched one by one in the yards. Distinguished by the symbols of the Maidan and the flags of Ukraine. Enraged security forces organized a real hunt for children in Kyiv.

Some of the young men were accepted and hidden by St. Michael’s Cathedral. Security forces were waiting for the students at the entrance to the Cathedral, but they did not dare to enter. 10 days later, it was the bell tower of Mykhailivskyi zlotoverhohy for the first time since the Middle Ages, during the second crackdown, calling everyone to the Maidan.

This dark night divided the history of Ukraine into “before” and “after”. The first innocent blood was spilled on the Maidan. The regime crossed the red line and pulled the trigger of the Revolution.

The next day, millions of people from all regions took to the streets of cities. The second all-Ukrainian event was held in Kyiv, in which a million people took part.

After three months of struggle, the revolution won. She showed that the “Putin” or “Lukashenki” scenario will never pass in Ukraine. She showed that the only power in Ukraine is the Ukrainian people.
