One of the funniest things I’ve ever encountered in my life is an actual underground miner, a gold miner in Timmins who works about 3 kilometers underground … a man with years of training and experience … who adamantly believes in the flat earth theory … I joked with him that his career is a workplace hazard as he has the possibility of drilling right through the bottom of earth’s plane … he didn’t laugh and didn’t have an explanation for it either.
it’s why we haven’t dug to the core of the earth yet. you never dig straight down.
