Context : have used Thunderbird for years : when it crashes it makes a mess. Have lost many emails this way, so i want a client for which each email is saved as a single file. My search points to “Zimba”
Maybe consider submitting your findings to the Thunderbird Team, so they can fix it. I never had a single crash with Thunderbird and or Betterbird.
Yeah! What happened, OP??
i am pushing the hardware and software in bad territory, so, it’s not Thunderbird fault it’s mine.
Nevertheless, i am seeking clients which are more fault tolerant. in my view, one email = one file, would help in that direction … and it would allow me to write simple programs to play with these files.
hi,[@testingthis](https://lemmy.ml/u/testingthis)
aerc is pretty nice for a terminal based email app
it says Zimba★ is not longer supported :
★“Zimbra Desktop Open Source”
here. Still i am tempted to try it !The bugs listed in the latest release is from 2016. I’d probably not risk it :)
Exactly the sort of thing that i should know and i don’t know. Many thanks.
Now i want to create another post about this Linux : Lightweight Portable Security
Because it was founded by the US Department of Defense it should have been the ultimate secured Linux … i can’t understand why they stop it in 2021 !Update : LPS Linux is meant to be used without persistance★ for security reasons, so, i will not use this.
. ★the system will not recall what i did last session
Delta Chat
Ref : Delta Chat on github, it is not on Wikipedia.
Do you use it on iOS, iPhone, iPad, MacOS, etc… or on Linux ?
is it better than “Claws Mail” on Linux ?
claws mail simple interface client
Claws Mail
looks right for me 👍
I use Neomutt, which runs in the terminal. I believe Emacs also has a email client too.
i have been spoiled whith graphical user interfaces (GUIS) for years of email.
