This is what makes him a master. He has a clear focus on the core storytelling component of film, and no preconceived notions as to what makes a good story. It’s a lot easier to find that revolutionary story if you’re not preoccupied in a search for some notion of what a story is supposed to be.

It isn’t movies that scare me — real life scares me. I’d ask you to take a look around the world right now. A frightening place in reality. I don’t need movies to scare me.
