As the title states I recently bought a new psp battery, but it’s not working. It wont charge, and if I manage to get the psp to boot just from being plugged in, it doesn’t even register that there is a battery in. Is this an issue with the battery or the psp itself? Edit: I was able to at least temporarily fix it by adding some electrical tape in between the battery and the cover.

It’s hard to tell without looking at it. But you should definitely try installing the battery once again carefully.

I know how to use psp batteries because this is the third time I’ve had to replace it. The only problem is that I haven’t used my psp in years so I don’t know if it’s the psp or just the battery. But one thing I did notice is that this battery doesn’t stay in properly. All of the other batteries stayed in when I held it upside down but this one just falls out.

Very likely just an issue with the battery. I have bought quite a few 3rd party psp batteries and have had a couple that just wouldnt fit right.
