These are professional liars and manipulators. Nothing they say should be taken at face value. Watch what they do, not what they say. If they say A but do B, then A was never the intention. In the case of wars, A was likely just PR for B. Putin probably still calls it a limited special operation in order to better sell it to the Russian public.

I think the reality is darker. Whoever sells the guns convinces dickheads like the ones pictured above that they can win their own little favourite war in 40 mins max - if only they buy the new EnemySmasher3000! It’s all marketing. Somebody gets rich. Us NPCs suffer.

It’s just so gross that class war isn’t enough. It has to be that too. Why the fuck does it have to be this wrong with being a billionaire that this needs to become a thing. Like holy fuck just collect cars or planets or something. Feed the poor. Invest in medical or science studies.

Being an unjailed pedophile shouldn’t be the end game. What the fuck is wrong with these people’s aims in life.

I think that becoming filthy rich genuinely makes people insane. Some people are better at hiding it, but these days it seems they don’t even bother to hide it anymore. Trump has shown that there is no consequences to flaunting and relishing in your own hateful rich person’s insanity anymore, so they just do that instead.

It’s just that all that money allows them to indulge their wildest fantasies, and at that point they are only constrained by their own morality. If they have sociopathic tendencies, which the ultra-wealthy have in disproportion to the general population, then they are likely to indulge their WORST fantasies, which they can easily afford.

Just imagine the crowd of sycophants and scammers that surround these people, all trying to collect some little bit of the money that sheds off them like dandruff. That crowd is going to treat any voice-of-reason follower as a barrier to wealth and an enemy and work very hard to get rid of them. It’s got to be incredibly difficult for billionaires to access any kind of negative feedback or reality check, and spinning out into one’s own little fantasy world seems like an inevitable consequence, even if they start out ‘normal.’

For some people it’s just natural.

I own a very small business, mostly just me. But now and then I have to hire extra help, and occasionally there’s a guy who goes straight into ass-kissing-the-boss mode, which disgusts me as much as everyone else.

I shut it down real fast, telling everybody in general that I don’t respond to ass kissing, and just do the job the way I tell you to do it. I don’t need my ass smooched at the same time. Gross, knock that shit off, have some self-respect.

Don’t even need to convince these slimeballs they’ll win. Just need to convince them war will make them rich and powerful regardless of the outcome.

I don’t care what somebody’s political opinions are on the invasion of Iran (I do but not for this context). Put that aside for a minute.

I’ve always cringed at the people that view war or politics like it’s a marvel movie or a football game. But, if you are one of those people, can you please reflect for a moment on how absolutely Andor like the Iranian resistance has been.

A massive Imperial empire is literally being brought to its knees, having its top teir stealth fighters shot at and hit, and it’s trade routes are being shut down by the mere fear of what are essentially explosives strapped to drones powered by glorified lawnmower engine. It’s overly spread out bases are hit and and abandoned.

No wonder Star Wars itself was literally written as the Rebels representing the Vietcong resistance to Imperialism.

The absolute hubris of the US Empire is being shown on full display.

Edit: Not directing this comment personally at the comment I replied to. The comment just definitely triggered this rant with the idea of “better tech” getting absolutely shit on by preparation, competency, and a people actually fighting for their own self determination against a foreign invasion.

The msg from the media that ‘trump messed up and there’s no exit path’ is only half right. The US could just pack up and exit the way they came, but apparently they ‘can’t’. Why not?

Putin and Trump are over the hump. (B+). Trump and Putin have lost their footin’. (D-).
