She likely comes across as pretty to the others because to them she looks like the pretty frames with the quiet mystique.

The manga, at least, relies on a toned down look to show her social anxiety. At least that has always been my take. She likely comes across as pretty to the others because to them she looks like the pretty frames with the quiet mystique.
Sorry, I’ve never read the manga, just a few episodes from the show.
