Pretty sure Eidos wanted to finish the game properly. In the first place. Mankind Divided wasn’t supposed to end so abruptly.
But when Squenix got shat on for trying to sneak in-game purchases into a single-player game, they pulled the plug on another game entirely.
Luckily, neither Eidos Montreal nor the Deus Ex IP is owned by Squenix anymore. Both got bought up by Embracer Group, which has expressed tacit interest in finishing the trilogy.
Such a good trilogy… oh wait, the final installment never came out because Eidos bailed on it to work on the Avengers game that no one remembers.
(Not counting the first game from the 90s or all the other game around it.)
