Did you know the site walkscore? It give a score to a region based on his walkability. I’m impressed that my neighbourhood here in Recife, Brazil, got a score of 97 (Walker’s Paradise)

i believe i’ve seen this embedded on real estate listing sites before, and i don’t think they mean the kind of walkability you and i are thinking of. they seem to only consider the immediate residential area and how easy it is to take leisurely walks, not walk to actual destinations and businesses. so suburban sprawl would probably be considered like an 80-90

I love it! We just moved into our first owned home this weekend and today. A big part of our hunt was finding a place with great walkability, transit, and bike routes. We managed to find a place with three light rail lines and three bus lines on it. Not too shabby.
