S1 is rough, but it really picks up right out of the gate in S2. The last season is halfway to a different show, it’s skippable. Crusader is fine, too; it’s not great, but I don’t regret watching it.
It’s widely considered the most contiguous SciFi series out there. The director started with 5 years of scripts and changed very little during production, other than losing the main character between seasons 2 and 3, due to medical complications. I personally consider Bab 5 to be as good, if not better than both Firefly and Farscape.
Between one and two. Even crazier, though - he knew actors sometimes left shows so he wrote in a “trapdoor” and replacement character so that he could sub out someone with a new character without losing a step.
It’s cheesy and cheap and often very manichaean. Yet, it’s very interesting and got me hooked to an extent that nothing on the Star Trek universe managed to.
M’star trek peeps, is the show worth watching? I’ve never seen it, and I’ve heard mixed reviews.
100% worth it. With the caveat that the effects aren’t good. The story and characters more than make up for it though.
The cgi was done on Amigas IIRC
Maya did what it could. The effects were amazing for a TV series at the time.
100%

Oh my god yes. I’m surprised you’re not watching it now. There’s a good amount of 90s camp and cheese, but the bones are very, very solid.

And it worked out super well too, arguably Sheridan was superb and having Sinclair become valen just works.
In the past year it was released in 4K. As others have said, the effects are not great, but growing up in that era, it felt a little nostalgic.
I was pretty hooked on it for a while. I got kinda burned out on the last season. It’s not that it wasn’t good, I just binged it too hard.

I learned a new word today. Thanks!
Much of season one is outright bad. The remaining seasons are really good.
