The “surprised” YouTubers are the worst to me. I was watching one guy talk about a mod that adds rocket packs to enemies. Then he adds the mod to his game. And then while playing he starts yelling at the top of his lungs when the enemies appear “OMG wtf they have jetpacks!?”.

    Come on.

Doesn’t bother me nearly as much as the ads with annoyingly smug-faced people saying things like, “I make ten thousand dollars a month playing solitaire,” because everyone knows playing solitaire while watching ads is super lucrative. I wish there were consequences for people who false advertise to such an astronomical degree, but there never will be.

I’ve questioned if Northern Lion does this, because there have been a couple games that don’t seem as difficult as he’s making them to be… Then I get stuck a couple levels after his video ended… And I think about the added pressure of responding to hundreds of comments…

But at the same time the guy can be pretty awful at some puzzle games while being pretty damn good at chess (but he’s terrible at chess puzzle games? Make the egg make sense)

I mean it could be an act but to be fair typically to be “entertaining” can take some focus away from the game when the observers only really can focus on the game and the entertainer, which are far more passive activities. I find I do far worse in games when chilling in Discord since I am not focusing exclusively on the game, obviously there are some types of games where having teammates does improve your capabilities but I’m referring to if I’m playing a singleplayer game while in a chat or playing a multiplayer game but still chitchatting in a channel.
