Across India, experiments to forge the ‘Hindu national community’ are predicated on the breakage of minoritised Muslims and Christians, and Adivasis and Dalits. What’s happening in Manipur is part of a plan operationalised by the Hindu Right decades ago.

Adivasis (Adi = first, vasis = settlers) = India’s indigeneous tribals
Dalits = oppressed castes, victims of the systemic discrimination and persecution in India’s caste hierarchy.

Many people know Dalits by the name “untouchables” but Dalits is the preferred nomenclature.

Untouchability used to be practised systemically against Dalits, and is unfortunately making a comeback. If the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act were implemented in spirit and in letter by the police and the justice system, the dehumanising practise would stamp out.

This genocide bullshit going on in India has been happening for years and I assert one of the biggest reasons is climate change, particularly fighting over water sources.

China, India, Pakistan and other countries have been squabbling over access to the glaciers that feed the Indus and Brahmaputra rivers for years. It’s partly why Modi and his posse of punk -ass bitches took over Manipur and other areas in the northeast. Where the glaciers are. Literally right by the Brahmaputra. Because they want the water to themselves.

I think the water issue is digging up old wounds and exacerbating the petty ethnic issues which are being used as an excuse by India to take it over and to secure water.

Here they are talking about it in 2021:

Alarmed with unsustainable development processes in Manipur amidst India’s neoliberal development targeting peoples’ land, forest, water and resources. Mega dams, mining, oil exploration, roads, railways, transmission lines pursued as part of India’s Act East Policy worsened land loss and climate change.

Express concern that large dams such as 66 MW Loktak Downstream Project, 190 MW Pabram Dam, 70 MW Nungleiband dam etc will destroy forest, agriculture land and threaten indigenous peoples livelihood, culture and identity while deepening climate crisis and impacts on indigenous peoples’ rights.

Concerned with increased land grabbing in mega infrastructure projects, Trans Asian Railway and Asian Highway projects, Imphal Town Ring Road etc

              Hereby Resolved that

              1. The Government of India, corporations and international financial institutions should protect and promote indigenous peoples self-determined rights over their land and resources and should take their free, prior and informed consent before targeting their land and resources.

They put out a resolution during Cop 26 demanding protection from climate-related exploitation from India… It’s real and does play a huge part in this no one is accounting for because all they care about are the racial tensions.

That’s quite disturbing. India is heading for some major violence and genocide with the government egging it on.

It’ll definitely worsen. Parliamentary elections are due soon, so are 4 state elections. In the Hindu supremacist Modi govt’s rule, elections in India mean communal violence enabled by the state in which minorities will be targeted and post-violence the homes and shops of minorities will be bulldozed. This violence will polarize voters into communal lines, and solidify the Hindu majoratarian votebank.

The latest violence in Nuh, Haryana which led to arrest and FIRs against Muslim youths and demolition by bulldozer of mostly Muslim’s homes and shops even though the violence was engineered by the violent Hindu supremacist VHP and Bajrang Dal, is a trailer to the rotten movie that’ll play out.

What is wierd is even though Modi and his govt have been virulently anti-Muslim, he is welcomed and gifted honours by heads of Islamic countries. Where is the Ummah?
