Is there any? I’m located in Finland and trying to find one. I just bought Sensodyne, which I believed would be European, but seems to be American, according to Wikipedia?

If are referring to the country of manufacturing rather than ownership, Colgate is manufactured in Poland (it says so on tubes).

But it is a US company nevertheless. If someone knows better alternatives, I would like to look into them.

Damn. Sensodyne is the only toothpaste I’ve tried that works with pain in my teeth. Any suggestions for clinical European alternatives worth trying?

The story seems to be complicated, but according to Wikipedia it seems to be British?

Sensodyne became a part of Haleon, a British multinational consumer healthcare corporation, in July 2022, following the establishment of Haleon as a separate entity through a corporate spin-off from GSK.[14]

Yes, it seems very complicated, because I got two different kinds of information from that article. One in “quick facts” tells it’s American and when you read further it says it’s British. I don’t use Google, so I didn’t investigate it more, though.

Seems that Wikipedia is confused. Sensodyne was originally an American product, but it was later purchased by GSK, which is a British company, which then split, and Sensodyne is now owned by Haleon, a British company.

        History

Sensodyne is a brand of toothpaste that was first sold by Block Drug, a Brooklyn, New York-based company established in 1907 by pharmacist Alexander Block.[1]

In 2000, Block Drug was purchased by Smith Kline Beecham P.L.C.,[11] which became GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK).[12]

Sensodyne became a part of Haleon, a British multinational consumer healthcare corporation, in July 2022, following the establishment of Haleon as a separate entity through a corporate spin-off from GSK.[14]

When I lived in Italy I used Marvis, because I stumbled upon it in Esselunga and randomly saw that it was produced close to where I lived in Tuscany. It’s pretty good.

Later on I found it in Flying Tiger in Denmark, so I guess there’s a chance of finding it everywhere.

When I have to pick up something from the supermarket I buy Zendium.

I buy “Dentitex Advanced Whitening Toothpaste” from Aldi, I think it’s made in Germany? I don’t mind it.

Elmex by Gaba International AG from Switzerland. Acodring to Wikipedia it looks okey to use. I like their products but they are also rather expensiv. I also do not know if they sell in Finland.

      Elmex by Gaba International

Gaba was acquired by Colgate-Palmolive, an American company.
      Wikipedia:

Elmex is a brand of toothpaste that has been sold since 1962. It is manufactured by GABA International AG, a Swiss manufacturer of branded oral care products located in Therwil. GABA was acquired by the Colgate-Palmolive company of the United States in 2004 for US$841 million.
