When I was a reporter I interviewed a pastafarian running for city council. I asked him whether he was genuinely interested in politics or if he was just making a point about atheism.

But he wouldn’t break character. He kept pretending it was his religion and wouldn’t take the colander off his head. At a certain point I was like, is he really clever or does he have mental illness and believe this is real?
