Hi
I’m planning to upgrade my RX 6600, i found a nice offer for RX 6750 XT Reference card (pictured), that’s apparently made by XTXXFX, it’s hard to find reviews for that specific variant, some customers reviews in item listings mention loud fans and coil whine but it’s not prevalent, can anyone confirm that? is fan noise an effect of default fan curves? is coil whine really that problematic? i mean i have trouble hearing anything in sample recording, I’m 40, so maybe it’s more noticeable for young people as higher frequencies often do?
I have that exact card and noise isn’t a problem. Maybe it is for the people who leave their PCs on top of their desk where their ears are closer?
SFF builders like me will often put the tower up on the desk with the monitors. I specifically bought parts with noise as a factor.
If this is at all like the 6700XT they made, it’s probably fine for noise. That one was on my list of potential buys, having a decently low noise level.
yeah, i want to migrate to smaller case, only mobo to change, i also like mesh cases, so noise would be a problem, especially the coil whine, that’s why im asking, as for cooling it’s radiator is rather on a smallish side, hence the fan noise consideration
You might also try asking in !sffpc@sh.itjust.works or !sffpc@lemmy.world
People there might also have experience with this card and might have considered noise.
I can’t find references, at all, to XTX being a manufacturer, but I do see it as a trim line on the RX7900.
Depending on where you found this, my guess is that it’s mislabeled. That would also explain why you can’t find any info about it.
yeah, i meant XFX, all those X’es are confusing;-) also all my search strings are similar to “RX 6750 XT Reference card”
