Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday signaled that he was moving ahead with U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to transfer the Palestinian population out of Gaza, calling it “the only viable plan to enable a different future” for the region.
Just keep humping that narrative.
There were a lot of really obvious failures that led to Harris’ loss. Idiot voters were one, and supporting a genocide was another. Neither is close to being the most important. The Democratic party has been necrotic for decades. That was never going to last.
I’ve known that the country would get here since Biden was nominated in 2020. It’s not an American problem either. Neoliberalism is falling to fascism all over the globe. If you can’t see the bigger picture then you’re as blind as the single issue Palestine voters.
Guilty conscience lol
No one mentioned Harris.
I voted for Harris. I’d rather see her in prison than the Whitehouse, but I rather see her in the Whitehouse than Trump.
My conscience is clear. I’ve been telling everyone since at least Obama’s first term that if the Democrats didn’t shape up that the fascists would win. I didn’t think Trump could pull off a comeback, but I knew it would be somebody.
Weak ass ineffective Democratic leadership got us here, along with the people who let them keep failing up. If there is a way out of this mess, I guarantee they won’t find it.
That’s why I am fed up with this narrative. Letting Democratic establishment get a free pass just cements our doom.
So how long into Trump’s genocide can we start to blame Trump instead of the democrats that lost?
HIV/AIDS is a horrible virus but it won’t kill you. It just sets you up to die from other things. Neoliberalism is HIV and fascism is pneumonia. Trying to address AIDS by focusing on pneumonia isn’t going to be very productive.
If it wasn’t Trump it would be someone else. What’s happening here is happening all over the world in countries that don’t have Trump. One of the few that escaped the rightward lurch is Mexico, one of very few countries to reject their neoliberals and elect two actual progressives in a row.
There is no end of bad things to be said about Trump, and there are plenty of people saying them. But, blaming Trump will either fall on deaf ears, or it will be preaching to the choir. What I don’t see is what you hope to gain from it. If it was going to make Democrats more electable then it would have worked by now. When Trump is gone, there will be another. As it stands now, we will lose.
yeah but it just feels so good to keep repeating that point, it is such an insightful, illuminating look at the real problems and DEFINITELY not just useless snark about a genocide….
If for months and months somebody absolutely would not shut up about how the smoke alarms were not good enough smoke alarms, and incessantly tried to drum up support for their petition to get rid of all the smoke alarms for that reason, and then it worked, and then after they took the smoke alarms out, the building burned down because the fire department didn’t find out in time, you can bet a million gazillion dollars I would bring it up to them whenever something building-fire-related came up in conversation.
Your metaphor here is flawed, you are categorizing a group of people who understood the building was on fire and were trying to warn everybody that the building was on fire… while centrists plugged their ears and yelled over the top of those warnings “too bad, no one cares about the fire/Palestinian Genocide” while simultaneously condescending a group of people whose loved ones, family and friends were getting burned alive/dying in the Palestinian Genocide as all just selfish concern trolling disengenous idiots.
Nobody likes you, Palestinians don’t, people that care about Palestinians don’t, people that don’t care about Palestinians don’t… so who the hell are your empty acidic jabs for? Your own amusement?
Please stop participating in this conversation, sharing your viewpoint does worse than nothing.
Yep, that sure is exactly what I was doing. I kept insisting no one cared and it wasn’t important. If you go back in my comments, you’ll find me doing exactly that, all over the place.
Totally hinged, very cool.
Well, I’m sure glad they’re doing better now, now that y’all have saved Palestine by blaming Kamala Harris for the Gaza war. It gives me the warm and fuzzies, to think of what a good job you all did.
Do you understand how much of a bratty child you sound like here?
We are talking about a genocide, keep your warm fuzzies to yourself.
I didn’t want the genocide. I warned that letting Trump come to power was inevitably going to make the genocide much worse, and people tried at length to educate me out of it, talking down to me a lot like how you are doing right now.
I am in no way happy to be proven right now that the genocide already in progress has accelerated substantially and its finish line is in sight. I’m making dark jokes about it because that is the only way I can cope with the horror, and avoid simply giving you abuse.
You helped this to happen, in some small and trivial way, if you were one of the people advocating before the election for anyone not to support Harris because of some theory giving her responsibility for the war in Gaza. I have no idea if you were or not, I just know the nature of you jumping into this conversation. You can rationalize however you like, or try to take a higher moral position and construct this self-righteous pretense that it was all the smoke detector supporters’ fault. Words are slippery things and you can do whatever you want with them. I’ve reached the end of my ability to talk about it with you.
STOP CONFLATING speaking up about a genocide with not supporting Harris.
I voted for Harris, people like me continually criticized Biden and Harris for refusing to do shit to about the Palestinian Genocide (to the point that the DNC refused to even allow a Palestinian to speak at the convention despite giving ample stage time to Republicans ???) because we knew it would endanger Harris’s chance of winning with voters who were intimately connected with the horror of the genocide.
I looked back in your comments, doing a quick Ctrl-F for “palestin” to see what speaking up you were doing about the genocide.
Every one over the last month said something about “Biden,” “Harris,” or “both sides.” Every one. None of that has been relevant for three months now. After a month, I did find one that mentioned Palestine in some capacity that didn’t also reference Democratic politicians in reference to it. But the overwhelming majority was making a point about Democrats, who haven’t been in power for quite a while.
I think if you care this heart-rendingly much about the Palestinians, you should spend more time talking about something that might help them at this point. What that might be, I have no idea, since the big opportunity to do that was before the election, by (1) influencing Democrats to do something about it (2) making sure Trump doesn’t win and make everything 10 times worse with no openness whatsoever to changing his mind about it.
You’re wrong here and it’s obvious by the ad hominems
If y’all don’t want ad hominems then stop straw manning leftists in this lame echo of the totally made up “Bernie Bro” narrative that centrists still to this day repeat even though there is NO evidence for it.
Don’t expect people to react reasonably after continually misrepresenting their opinions without listening to them.
Fixed that for you
