I have no idea, who these characters are. But they vibe.

No, his personality is “insecure drowning in fake cockyness and failed attempts at humor”.

My point is that it’s the overarching style of design, in especially post-original legends. And its there to a greater or lesser extent in all of them. It’s like they’re all focus-grouped to appeal to edgy fourteen year olds, and I hate it with a white hot passion.

And Wraith talks down to literally everything around her. She might not be outright arrogant, but she definitely has a major case of main character syndrome.

Yeah that’s what. Mirage isn’t edgy. He’s insecure making as cocky. There are layers to his personality.

Wraith comes off as harsh, but she’s had a rough life.

I agree that some of the kill quips don’t match their personalities at times.

It doesn’t matter what the underlying reasons for their personalities are lore-wise, if none of that comes through to a casual player.

One of my favorite legends is Horizon, but she doesn’t have a single quip that matches who she is and isn’t a cringy gamer-burn.

As fucked as overwatch has become, the pre-game character conversations are masterful in comparison to Apex. There’s some of that, in squad mate thank-yous, but even that stuff is written to be adversarial 75% of the time.

Why!? It’s a squad based game, but most of the charachters can’t keep it to themselves how they’re only co-operating with each other for the most selfish of reasons!
