I mean, setting aside conspiracy or whatever clamor we could make about tap water… if someone is already addicted to nicotine, are they just not allowed to get angry at systemic forces anymore? Is that the point of this post?
Like, if the city government lets some company dump toxic waste into our drinking water supply, are the smokers just supposed to be cool with that? No, of course not, that would be absurd. You’d want smokers and non-smokers all marching on city hall, wouldn’t you?
You people just want to hate on addicts. Just spare me the fucking soapbox in my inbox please, I really don’t want to hear it.
This is right up here with making fun of horrendous people for the way they look and these people do that all the time. It’s so important to insist that our enemies are fat or have weirld shirtless pictures when that’s not even anything to do with why we are fighting them. Childish behavior.
mad at… perceived systemic issues. the fact that it’s fake news is irrelevant, since the criticisms levied here are applicable to any instance of government pollution. yall are basically saying “you can’t be mad at that if you poison yourself in other ways!” which is obviously an absurd thing to say to someone who’s angry at your cause. the only alternative explanation is that the people here assume she just doesn’t believe that smoking is bad for her?? like that’s it’s funny to believe a bizarre thing is true and a well known fact is false? but you can’t all possibly be that naive to think she doesn’t know smoking is bad for her.
this is important. these are the kinds of biases that we NEED to keep in check.
Fake news =/= systemic issues
Fake news = purposeful disinformation meant to distract from real harmful things in the world.
The point of the post is that shes being outraged over things that do not matter, instead of things that do matter (like the harmful nicotine industry, or distracted driving.). If she cared about the nicotine industries harm, where is the bumper sticker? If she cares about road safety, why is she clearly texting and driving?
Your argument is built upon false equivalencies at best and is being purposefully ignorant at worst. The post is meant to bring light to the fact that the US is killing itself for comfort in old ways and disinformation.

They aren’t angry at systemic issues, theyre mad because fox news and info wars told them to be mad.
